The City of El Paso has given Amazon the green light to start building a 160,000 distribution center — a project valued at $51.5 million — at 7850 Paseo Del Norte, in the northwestern part of the city, near Interstate 10 and the New Mexico border.Â
VTRE Development owns the property. The development company serves national tenants like Amazon, Wayfair and United Parcel Service Inc.
The city sold the nearly 44-acre parcel of land on which the distribution center will sit to VTRE Development for $18.7 million.
The proposed new facility would join another Amazon warehouse, located on the southeastern side of the city (photo).
