If you’re a fan of iconic Audi road cars and racing cars, then we have some very good news for you. . A collaboration between Mattel Brick Shop, Hot Wheels, and Audi has produced new 1:32 and 1:16 scale sets of the RS2 Avant and R8 LMS.
The first release is a 1:32 scale interpretation of the famed RS2. Built for only a brief period in the mid-1990s, the RS2 marked a milestone as Audi’s very first first RS-badged model, created in partnership with Porsche.

There’s a lot to love about the RS2, but perhaps its highlight was the 2.2-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine, modified by Porsche, which allowed it to deliver 311 hp and 302 lb-ft (410 Nm) of torque. When it was new, it could accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.8 seconds.
Fewer than 2,900 units were ever built, so seeing one on the road is rare. The Mattel model has been priced at just $19.99 and is available from select retailers globally.
Then there’s the Audi R8 LMS. This GT3 racing car premiered in 2009 and has won the 24 Hours of Nurburgring seven times, alongside several prized championship titles around the world. The Mattel model is a 1:16 scale version of the race car and includes a functional steering wheel alongside interchangeable decals, splitters, and spoilers. It will be priced from $49.99.
“Mattel Brick Shop and Hot Wheels brand collaborations provide adult collectors and auto enthusiasts alike the ability to interact with their favorite vehicles, like these storied Audi Models, in an entirely new way – by building them,” global head of vehicles and building sets at Mattel, Ted Wu said. “Hot Wheels and Audi first partnered for the first official casting in 1993, and we’re proud to expand that relationship into one of the company’s newest brands in the building category, Mattel Brick Shop.”
You’ll have to wait a little longer before stacking these bricks in person, as the sets won’t actually land on shelves until later this fall. For now, they’re up for pre-order through Amazon, Target, Walmart and directly via Mattel Creations.
