- The “Harry Potter” TV adaptation will premiere on HBO this Christmas.
- It will cover the first book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” — or the Philosopher’s Stone.
- There were a few cuts from the book in the film adaptation that we want to see in the TV series.
It seems that every other week, we’re getting a new cast announcement for the “Harry Potter” TV series that’s hitting HBO — most recently, Kit Harington was announced as Gilderoy Lockhart in season two.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
Season one of the show, which is set to drop on December 25, will cover the events of JK Rowling’s first wizarding book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” which was first published in 1997. If you live outside the US, you’ll know it as “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” which HBO is going with this time around.
Since HBO’s CEO Casey Bloys promised that each season will “dive deep into each of the iconic books,” Potterheads expect the TV series to include details that had to be cut from the films for time constraints.
Here are the 10 biggest things we want to see included in season one of “Harry Potter.”
