Hyundai has been basking in the glow of gushing car journalists for its amazing Ioniq 5 N, since that car is hugely powerful, handles amazingly, and all its go-fast goodies are wrapped in a cool angular hot hatch body. As such, the praise is entirely deserved. What’s funny, though, is that it wasn’t the first fast EV to come out of Hyundai Motor Group. The first brand to take a stab at that niche was actually Kia. Just like how the Stinger managed to be the first Hyundai Group car to get the rear-drive-based platform that Genesis would adopt for its whole range, Kia managed to get the first high-performance E-GMP car out the door before either Hyundai or Genesis with the EV6 GT. It was also a huge hoot of a car, but it was then overshadowed by the more boldly-styled and more powerful Ioniq 5 N.
