For 2027, Chevrolet is giving its two smallest SUVs some upgrades. The Chevy Trax and Trailblazer are being given an update that encompasses refreshed styling, better technology and in excess of 20 standard safety and driver-assistance items. You can expect to see the 2027 models at dealerships come the spring.

The changes are underpinned by an overhauled electrical and software architecture. This allows for such standard fare as Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist and Front and Rear Park Assist, among others like the Side Bicyclist Alert and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. Adaptive Cruise Control and a Safety Alert Seat are also on the list of available features.

Step inside either the Trax or Trailblazer and there is a new 11-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. Google built-in with Gemini comes as part of the package, as does 12 months of OnStar One service for in-vehicle Wi-Fi and video streaming. A new Storm Sky Gray has been introduced for the interior.

The 2027 Trax has been streamlined to three trims: Trax, RS and ACTIV. There is a new grille, LED taillamps and a reworked liftgate. The RS is fitted with the largest wheels on offer at 19 inches, whereas the ACTIV holds onto its more adventurous front-end design. New hexagonal side vents are found on the dash and, for the first time, a power liftgate is an option.

On the Trailblazer side, a new Z71 trim makes an appearance in the entry-level and RS lineup. It is the adventure-ready model, equipped with an off-road-tuned suspension, skid plate and sport-terrain tires for its all-wheel drive. The Z71’s rugged character is evident in the debossed headrests and the Jet Black and Storm Sky Gray interior with orange touches. A new column shifter has made way for a redesigned center console with flexible storage and rear HVAC vents; an AutoSense power liftgate is now available too.
