It’s an unfortunate statistic, but the average young driver aged 16 to 19 is three times as likely to be involved in a fatal car accident for every 20 miles driven, per the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The statistic makes sense, then, that most parents try to find their teenager a large, boxy, and safe car to minimize the risk of injuriesin an accident.
