Wideman Co. acquired the 35-story TotalEnergies Tower at 1201 Louisiana St. from Brookfield Properties.
The 850,000-square-foot tower was originally built in 1971. It has undergone numerous upgrades that included adding a fitness facility and adjacent bike room. The lobbies were previously renovated in 1996. And then Brookfield Properties kicked off renovations at what was then called Total Plaza, in 2019 and completed them in 2020. Ziegler Cooper Architects handled the redesign, which upgraded the street-level and second-floor lobbies as well as the tunnel level. Houston-based Tellepsen led the construction.
The Houston Business Journal reports that Wideman Co. plans to keep the TotalEnergies Tower as a long-term hold within its portfolio.
With the addition of TotalEnergies Tower, the Wideman Co., which also owns Jones on Main, now owns approximately 1.7 million square feet of office space in downtown Houston.
The acquisition of TotalEnergies Tower comes just days after Williams Companies acquried its namesake 64-story, 1.4 million-square-foot Williams Tower at 2800 Post Oak Blvd.
