The Revuelto SV Beat The SVJ By 5.7 Seconds Before Lamborghini Even Revealed It

The Revuelto SV lapped Hockenheim in 1:41.6 ahead of its debut.
That is 5.7 seconds quicker than the Aventador SVJ managed in 2019.
Lamborghini’s own video hedges the claim as best-in-class, not outright.

Lamborghini is not ready to fully reveal the new Revuelto SV, but it is very ready to tell us how fast it is. Ahead of the hardcore hybrid V12’s world premiere at The Quail on August 14, factory driver Marco Mapelli lapped the Hockenheimring in 1:41.6. That makes it 5.7 seconds quicker than the Aventador SVJ around the same circuit, which is not something one gets from a new wheel design and a badge.

Lamborghini calls the result a best-in-class lap time in its video. That’s key wording given the company’s press release calls it a production-car record. The Mercedes-AMG One’s 1:38.563 remains the outright road-car benchmark at Hockenheim, but that misses the more interesting takeaway here. This is clearly a much sharper machine than the already formidable SVJ.

We haven’t seen the car undisguised yet, but we get plenty of details revealed here. There’s a towering fixed rear wing, revised bodywork, what appears to be a much more aggressive rear diffuser, and extra vents scattered across the car. As SV versions go, it’s fully inside the family line.

Lamborghini hasn’t yet said how much power the Revuelto SV makes, how much weight it loses, what tires it used, or how much downforce that wing creates. The standard Revuelto starts with a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12, three electric motors, and 1,001 hp (747 kW), so there is already plenty to work with. We’ll get the full picture at Monterey Car Week. For now, we can just be fully reassured that the SV is unquestionably quicker.
