The modern Jeep Wrangler traces its lineage to the legendary Willys MB light transport vehicle from World War II. Shortly after the war ended, Willys-Overland introduced the CJ-2A as the civilian version of the military vehicle. The CJ designation stood for “civilian jeep.” The vehicle proved popular and was among the machines that created the SUV segment.
