We’ve seen hundreds of hybrid models on our roads – from commuter cars like the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid to supercars like the Ferrari 296 – but what we don’t see much of are diesel hybrids. In theory, the idea makes sense. Combining the low-speed simplicity of an electric motor and the mileage of a diesel engine sounds like a good idea – in theory – but does it even work? Or have we been missing out?
