Automakers have been developing hybrid engines mainly to reduce fuel consumption and emissions generation. However, the same automakers have been finding other interesting ways to take advantage of the motors and batteries in them to achieve other goals. Some have used hybrid systems to conveniently add all-wheel drive, others have used them simply to increase performance. As for Stellantis, the company seems to have an idea for how to make a hybrid, like a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid or Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, handle a stalled engine in a safe way and by giving you power for as long as possible.
