Smartphone projection proved a revelation when it debuted with Apple CarPlay in 2014 and Android Auto in 2015. Cord hookups to get audio from your phone to your car before that were janky. And those manufacturer interfaces that existed were terrible afterthoughts. Fast-forward a decade, and things have changed.
