America Is Getting the First Look at McMurtry’s $1.3 Million Fan Car

Ever since the McMurty Spéirling made its debut on the famed Goodwood Festival of Speed hillclimb, it has cemented itself as an automotive icon. At the time, it was a mere prototype, an engineering vision turned reality, but not made for the road. However, the geniuses behind the Spéirling eventually decided a production version was needed. A few years of work and development have passed, leading to the launch of the Spèirling PURE.

After months of teasing and an online reveal, the McMurty Spèirling PURE will make its global public debut very soon on American soil.

U.S. To Get First Look

McMurty Automotive has just announced that the recently revealed PURE production car will make its global public debut in the United States. The niche automaker has chosen some very enthusiast-centric events to show off its latest creation, specifically at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, on August 14.

During the 23rd installment of this prestigious car event, the PURE will be on full display in the McMurty booth for everyone to finally see. After it finishes up at The Quail, the PURE will make its way to its natural habitat, a racetrack, the legendary Laguna Seca Raceway. It’ll be there on August 15 for the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.

McMurtry co-founder and Managing Director, Thomas Yates, will be attending both events. He was also quoted as saying, “The Quail really will be a significant moment in McMurtry’s history, and we cannot wait to witness the reaction of the public, our customers and the media in seeing the Spéirling PURE in production form, in person, for the first time. It’s one thing to see the images online, but to truly absorb the car’s design, proportions, details and finish, nothing compares to when the car is there in front of you.”

Pure In Every Sense

When it comes to the PURE, McMurty is proud that while it’s directly derived from the record-breaking car, the PURE features 95% new components. In fact, they also say that the PURE is the closest to F1-like performance that can be purchased and enjoyed. Some of the car’s key features include upgraded and boosted battery capacity, bigger interior space, and even hydraulic power steering for a better driving feel.

For the $1.3 million price tag, McMurty has also enabled customers to somewhat customize their PUREs. Owners can choose between a varied selection of wheels, graphics and decals, and paint finishes. You can also tweak the interior to suit your preferences in terms of stitching, logos, and steering wheel trim. Not that it matters in the slightest because you’ll be going too fast to notice your bespoke interior.
