Across the world, the Honda Civic Type R has become synonymous with raw and motorsport-bred performance. For almost three decades, it’s told us plenty about the company’s capability, with its lightweight design, precise positioning, and high-revving VTEC propulsion on show. Yet United States enthusiasts have only had limited access to the Type R. Often, the closest they could get would be the Civic Si, and they’ve never been able to get hold of a new, naturally aspirated version of the Type R from their local Honda dealer. So, it’s cool to know that an EP3 version of the naturally aspirated Type R may soon be available for import under the 25-year import rule.
