Slate Auto’s pickup truck is, in so many ways, the antithesis of the modern car, for better and for worse. It has an impressively low price, but it does that by including basically nothing. Not only doesn’t it have a radio, it doesn’t even have speakers. However, you can add many basic features as options. It’s a bit like the now-defunct Spirit Airlines of cars: cheap, but if you want anything, you’ll pay extra. This contributes to the extensive list of options and accessories Slate has available, from functional items to visual customization. If you’re not careful, that number can balloon to the point that you could get quite a bit more truck for the same money.
