Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic reportedly offered a salary of 145,000 euros (roughly equal to $190,000) for a personal assistant in its London office.
The posting called for a “highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-starting administrative business partner” to support “senior go-to-market” leaders. Responsibilities would include scheduling, “handling travel logistics,” managing an executive’s inbox and communications, filing expense claims, and other office tasks.
The post, since removed from Anthropic’s website but preserved here, also stated that the role would require “outstanding attention to detail, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to anticipate needs across teams while ensuring responsive, error-free execution.”
Fast Company reached out to Anthropic for comment.
Social media users are pointing to the apparent irony of a leading agentic AI firm hiring a human worker to do a job that an AI agent could, at least theoretically, largely handle.
“Somebody should really build some sort of tech tool that can handle this stuff autonomously,” one user quipped.
