Air taxi manufacturer Archer Aviation Inc. has agreed to lease a 501,000-square-foot industrial complex in Morgan Hill ahead of launching its first passenger flights later this year, reported the Silicon Valley Business Journal. The San Jose-based company will lease all five buildings at Trammell Crow Company’s Cochrane Technology Center.
TCC Northern California Market Leader Adam Voelker told the Business Journal the Archer lease was “a tremendous validation of both the project’s design and Morgan Hill’s growing appeal as a center for advanced manufacturing and innovation.” TCC developed the 30-acre Cochrane Technology Center, which was completed in 2024, after seeing workers commuting from Morgan Hill to manufacturing jobs farther north in the Bay Area.
The Morgan Hill lease, which follows other commitments for both office and industrial space, occurs as Archer shifts from testing electric aircraft to manufacturing them at commercial scale, the Business Journal reported. The company plans to initially produce about 50 aircraft per year.
