War rarely serves as an aspirational backdrop, yet it’s becoming an increasingly common setting for brand collaborations. Aston Martin is the latest automaker to step into that arena, unveiling the Dreadnought, a digital-only armored SUV created exclusively for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. While the vehicle will never reach production, the partnership says plenty about how luxury brands are trying to connect with the next generation of buyers.

Created alongside Infinity Ward and Activision, the Dreadnought was designed without the constraints of production engineering or safety regulations. In other words, this was a field day for Aston’s design team. The result? What it calls the ultimate tactical performance SUV. It looks like a cross-breed of an Aston Martin with a future Humvee of some sort.
Players will even hear what the company describes as the roar of an Aston Martin V12 during gameplay. Infinity Ward says it worked closely with Aston Martin to ensure the vehicle’s animation, handling, and physics reflected the performance expected from the brand, albeit in a decidedly more combat-oriented setting.

The name is no accident either. Beyond its dictionary meaning of “fear nothing,” Dreadnought references the revolutionary British battleship HMS Dreadnought, a vessel that dramatically changed naval warfare in the early 20th century.
Aston Martin leaned into that inspiration by imagining reserve fuel tanks, integrated weapons storage, adaptive combat systems, and heavy armor plating. If you’re thinking that this sounds like something you might see in a future Bond film, we agree.
Perhaps the most revealing comment came from Stefano Saporetti, Aston Martin’s Director of Brand Diversification. He described the collaboration as a way to engage “the luxury consumers of tomorrow,” highlighting the broader strategy behind the project. Few Call of Duty players are likely shopping for a DB12 or DBX today, but introducing the brand inside one of gaming’s biggest franchises could pay dividends years down the road.
The Dreadnought will appear in both DMZ and Warzone when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, while a full-size model of the digital SUV will make its public debut at Fanatics Fest in New York.
