If it’s at all possible, imagine how different life would be without the Toyota Prius. For one, we would have to get more creative with our automotive insults. Second, the parking lot of Whole Foods would look vastly different. I could write for eons about the hybrid propulsion systems tested by companies that never fully made it to production, but only one would make just as large a difference in the world if it beat the Prius to market. Despite Ferdinand Porsche developing the first known hybrid vehicle at the dawn of the 20th century, his company wasn’t the first to bring the technology to market. Oh, what a world we could be living in.
