Arch Enemy Arts Call for ArtistsFeatured
Arch Enemy Arts is seeking submissions for an annual group exhibition in January 2027. This spotlight exhibition of new and emerging talent has no themes or direction in subject matter, although the gallery focuses on representational, dark surrealism, magical realism, post-graffiti, pop-surrealism, narrative, illustrative, and figurative work across a range of artistic mediums. The exhibition is open to artists worldwide, who are invited to submit up to three works for consideration.

The British Art Prize (International)
The British Art Prize, run by Artists & Illustrators magazine, is one of the U.K.’s most exciting annual art competitions showcasing the talent and diversity of contemporary artists from around the world. Each year, a panel of leading curators, gallerists, and art professionals selects a shortlist of outstanding works. These finalists are exhibited at London’s Oxo Gallery. Winners are awarded prizes worth more than £10,000, including cash awards, art materials, a solo exhibition at Panter & Hall’s Cecil Court Gallery, and editorial features in Artists & Illustrators.

Clotilda Memorial Alabama Historical Commission (International)
The Alabama Historical Commission is seeking proposals to honor the last known African captives trafficked to the United States through the transatlantic slave trade: the Clotilda survivors. The memorial will convey dimensions of the survivors’ lives and legacies—celebrating their resilient and determined spirits amidst violent dislocation, enslavement, and discrimination. Projects will be developed through a collaborative process that will engage the community founded by the Clotilda survivors and other formerly enslaved people: historic Africatown and the expansive diaspora. The total budget is $2,000,000.

The Spruill Gallery in Dunwoody, Georgia, is accepting nationwide submissions for its annual AMPLIFY mural competition. The winning artist will receive a $10,000 prize, and their mural will adorn the side of the historic Spruill Smoke House for the coming year.

ARTLittle 1st International Metaverse Art Expo (International)
The 1st International Metaverse Art Expo, presented by ARTLittle, is a 3D multiuser online exhibition where visitors from around the world walk through the galleries with avatars, discover artworks, and buy directly. ARTLittle is an independent art project built in Malaysia and is open to artists and galleries worldwide. Three hundred artists will be selected for exhibition in the virtual expo and have works offered for sale.

Hunt Museum Open Submission Exhibition (International)
The Hunt Open Submission Exhibition is an initiative celebrating contemporary Irish and international art at the Hunt Museum in Limerick. There is a €15 entry fee for the first image, plus an additional €15 per artwork for up to three submissions.

Hiding in Plain Site: International Public Art Short Film Festival (International)
HPS invites filmmakers, artists, and creative practitioners to submit short works between two and 20 minutes for consideration in this screening program, which will premiere on October 25 in Minneapolis. HPS seeks to bring together film, video art, experimental media, XR (extended reality), and other works that expand how public art is experienced and represented.

Apply to Teach at Mendocino Art Center (U.S.)
The Mendocino Art Center (MAC), located in the coastal Northern California community of Mendocino, offers workshops taught by both visiting and local artists in a wide variety of mediums and topics. Some instructors choose to be compensated, and some choose to teach pro bono to help MAC offer more affordable workshops.

Big Fields Fund Grants for Eastern Iowa Artists (Iowa)
The Big Field Fund awards grants to artists and collectives to support publicly-engaged experimental, collaborative, and connective visual arts projects in eastern Iowa. Project grants award $8,000 to support the public realization of artist-led projects, while research and development grants offer $3,000 to support artists in the early stages of an ambitious project.

SKOG Art Space Exhibitions Open Call (International)
This open call welcomes artists from around the world at all career stages to apply for both solo and group exhibitions at SKOG in Oslo, Norway. The gallery welcomes proposals from both emerging and established artists working across all media and techniques.

Midwest Culture Bearers Award (Midwest)
The Midwest Culture Bearers Award honors and amplifies the work of 18 mid-career and established Midwestern cultural practitioners each year. Selected individuals will each receive a $5,000 unrestricted award. No cost share or match is required to receive these funds. Additionally, Arts Midwest offers awardees virtual professional development and networking opportunities, plus the opportunity to have a story written about their work.

2027 Brightwork Fellowship & Grants (North Carolina)
Anchorlight, based in Raleigh, offers one fellowship and two grants for 2027. The Professional Development Grant amounts to $2,000, and the Studio Project Grant awards $3,000. The fellowship is a year-long program geared toward an artist who is at a pivotal point in their career, providing a 500+ square-foot studio space at Anchorlight, an exhibition opportunity in its gallery, and an unrestricted financial award of $50,000. One artist will be selected for each, and each must have lived in North Carolina for at least 12 months as of applying. There is a $10 application fee for each opportunity.

2026 Chrysalis Award for Emerging Ceramic Artists (U.S.)
The Chrysalis Award was created by the James Renwick Alliance for Craft to support and inspire emerging craft artists in the United States. Eligible applicants are in the early stages of their professional artistic careers—regardless of age—and have completed their training within the past five years. This year’s award will recognize an emerging artist working in ceramics, who will receive a $5,000 unrestricted award, a one-year JRACraft membership, and the opportunity to present their work at a JRACraft event.

Liu Shiming Artist Grants (U.S.)
Designed to support the work of visual artists during the first decade of their careers, the Liu Shiming Artist Grants support the creation or completion of new projects that explore the interplay between traditional cultural or historical influences and contemporary artistic practice. Up to five artists will be selected to receive a $5,000 grant.

Dezi Art Prize (International)
This global juried art grant is geared toward emerging and early-career visual artists. Two winners each receive a $1,000 unrestricted grant, plus a featured profile. Ten finalists are named and featured. Open worldwide, all visual media is welcome, with entries scored on merit by an independent jury. There is a $30 application fee.

Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant (International)
Now in its third year, Printed Matter’s Publisher Work Grant program offers funding to independent presses with a history of artists’ book publishing, acknowledging awardees’ accomplishments in past work and providing the capacity-building funds to enable future book projects and publisher sustainability. In 2026, three unrestricted grants of $10,000 will be awarded to three independent artists’ book publishers. Printed Matter will also extend a featured exhibitor presence at a forthcoming Printed Matter NY or LA Art Book Fair to selected presses.

ARRIVAL Gallery Micro Grant (International)
The ARRIVAL Grant is designed to keep support simple and accessible. Artists submit one original artwork to the current round, and once the round reaches 1,000 valid submissions, one eligible artist receives a £100 grant and a new round begins.

The Adolf and Esther Gottlieb Emergency Grant (International)
This program provides one-time financial assistance to qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs resulted from an unforeseen catastrophic incident and who lack the resources to meet that situation. Awardees typically receive $5,000 and up to $15,000.

Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (International)
The foundation welcomes applications from painters, sculptors, and artists working on paper, including printmakers. Grants are intended for one year and range up to $50,000. The artist’s circumstances determine the size of the grant, and professional exhibition history will be considered.

Residencies, Fellowships, & More
BigCi Environmental Awards 2026 (International)
Australian and international artists working in visual art, installation, multimedia, performance, literature, music, photography, filmmaking, and curating are invited to submit entries for the BigCi Environmental Awards 2026. Two winning artists will each receive a free four-week residency at BigCi, where they will have the opportunity to explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wollemi, Blue Mountains, and Gardens of Stone National Parks in Australia. The winners also receive an AUD$5,000 award. There is an AUD$40 application fee.

TaDA Residency 2027 (International)
Each year, six jury-selected candidates have the opportunity to work with textile companies in Eastern Switzerland, use a local studio in Arbon, and extend their individual networks over a period of three months. At the TaDA Spinnerei event, also attended by international speakers, artists can present their projects to an interested public and discuss with experts.

Surface Design Association Artist-in-Residence Program (International)
The residency program facilitated by the Surface Design Association (SDA) is designed to build skills, leverage relationships, and offer support to early, mid-career, and established fiber artists as they undertake studio projects that inspire artistic growth. The residency is virtual, and the selected participant is provided with a $2,000 studio stipend to support projects during their time. There is no application fee, but applicants must be members of SDA.

Center for Performance Research AiR (New York City)
CPR’s residency supports artists working in contemporary dance, performance, and time-based art. The organization values experimental approaches to content, form, and aesthetics and encourages risk-taking, interdisciplinarity, and the unexpected. The residency runs for one year (January to December 2027) and includes a $2,000 stipend, 20 free hours of rehearsal space, and more.

bEam arts Residency (International)
bEam arts is an independent, artist-led residency program located in Thessaloniki, Greece, which welcomes visual artists and writers. The program supports a vibrant studio practice for up to four visual artists and two writers to stay for one or two months. During the residency, bEam arts hosts monthly activities and provides artists with opportunities to connect, engage with one another, and expand their professional networks. Each cycle ends with a group exhibition. The cost is €1,850 per month, including accommodation.

AVISTAVULCÃO Residency (Europe)
Part of the Culture Moves Europe initiative, this open call is for applications for a one-month artist-in-residence program focused on research and creation, to take place in March 2027, intended for an artist or artistic duo. Located on the Azares island of Faial, near the Capelinhos Volcano, the residency offers an immersion in a territory shaped by the power of geology, its insular nature, and the constant interplay between nature and human presence.

Helpmann Fellowships (South Australia)
Three Helpmann Fellowships of up to AUD $7,500 are available to support ambitious, self-directed projects that advance the artistic and professional development of recent graduates (within five years) of eligible performing and visual arts programs at South Australia’s two universities. Funding can support larger-scale creative projects, tailored professional development, or a combination of both.

2027 National Gallery of Iceland Residency(International)
The National Gallery of Iceland is seeking applications to its CUSP program, a European cooperation project funded through Creative Europe’s Culture grant. Artists working in complex media or emerging technologies are invited to apply. The residency will be up to four weeks long, and accommodation, workspace, and stipends are provided.

ON::View Artist Residency Program(International)
Located in the heart of Savannah’s Starland District at ARTS Southeast, the fully-funded ON::View Artist Residency provides a free, high-visibility studio space, lodging, and a $500 stipend for an artist or curator to complete a new project, continue an in-progress endeavor, or to conduct research. There is a $50 application fee.

MacDowell Fellowships for Spring/Summer 2027(International)
Located in Peterborough, New Hampshire, MacDowell encourages applications from artists of all backgrounds and all countries in the following disciplines: architecture, film/video, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, and visual arts. A Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a private studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two to eight weeks.

2027-28 QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists(New York City)
The Queens Museum (QM) launches its eighth iteration of the QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists in New York City. Two visual artists will receive $20,000 each and professional development consultations from QM staff members working toward an artist’s project. Each fellow will also receive mentorship from a New York-based established artist. The fellowships will culminate in solo project exhibitions at the Queens Museum in 2028. The duration of each fellowship is one year, culminating with the opening of the fellow’s exhibition.

Quarantine (International)
Dubbed “purgatory for artists,” Quarantine is a week-long intensive art program on an 18th-century quarantine island off the coast of Menorca, Spain. The program is open to beginners and professionals alike and offers three 45-minute private mentorships throughout the week, with activities lasting 12+ hours per day. Phones are banned.

Residencia Corazón (International)
Residencia Corazón is an independent, artist-run residency in La
Plata, Argentina—a home for artists since 2006. The program welcomes visual
artists, writers, curators, and creative researchers from around the
world for one- to three-month residencies. Each stay is fully personalized, and fees range from $800 to $1,500 per month.
