While it’s not nearly as popular these days, coachbuilders – companies who typically took existing automobiles and redesigned them, or added some sort of bespoke flair – were utilized by virtually every single automaker, especially in pre-War times. As the decades wore on, the coachbuilder as a concept began to fade from popularity as most automakers took to designing everything themselves. However, in Italy, a few clung to life with a healthy amount of vigor.
