The BMW 3 Series attained something close to perfection in its fourth generation, internally known as the E46. More recent versions of the 3 Series may be quicker, larger, and far more advanced, but the E46 was the perfect intersection of relatively modern technology and that old-school, analog driver appeal that made the German marque famous.
