Typically, the fall season smells like cinnamon sticks and fire pits. But this year, it’s about to smell like one of the most divisive holiday treats in existence: candy corn.
That’s because Brach’s, the more than 120-year-old company that makes the Halloween-themed candy, is debuting a fall scent which, according to the brand, “smells just like the taste of candy corn.”
While folks either love it or hate it, those who typically lean into everything fall — like pumpkin spice, as well as goblins, ghouls, and all of the season’s most haunting spooks — are likely to be intrigued.
“Candy Corn is the true marker of fall and Team Candy Corn is passionate about their fandom, so this year, Brach’s is giving them a new way to express their love for the iconic treat,” said Kelly Peyser, Director of Brach’s and Seasonal Marketing at Ferrara Candy Company, in the release.
Peyser continued, “With Ode to Candy Corn, we’ve transformed the unmistakable flavor of Brach’s Classic Candy Corn into a wearable fragrance that truly captures the sweetness, warmth and nostalgia that makes this time of year so special.”
Even though there is often a debate around whether Candy Corn is actually good or not, it’s one of the most popular Halloween candies around. According to 2024 sales data from Brach’s, the candy is most-beloved in the state of Utah. Unsurprisingly, it’s also exceptionally popular in locations where corn is a top product, such as Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri.
While smelling like Candy Corn might feel like one step too far, even for those who enjoy a handful of the sweet corn-shaped treats during the fall season, its scent actually sounds pretty enticing (and not entirely like something you’d nibble, rather than spray on your body). The candycorn-inspired eau de parfum has notes of vanilla, spun sugar, and honey.
The fragrance comes in limited-edition 1.7 oz bottles for a price of $22 and will first be available at 7 p.m. ET today, September 22, followed by an additional drop at 7 p.m. ET on Oct 1. Customers can purchase the sweet scent at CandyCornSeason.com, but only while supplies last.
