The Chevrolet Corvette is one of the longest-standing models in automotive history, with the first version coming on the scene in 1953. The same goes for the Z06 nameplate, which was first introduced in 1963 as an engine package for the C2 Corvette, though it was only used for that year before it was shelved for the next four decades. It was resurrected in 2001 as the range-topping version of the C5 Corvette, and has gone on to be a staple of the Corvette range ever since.
