According to a new report published on Business Wire, the average cost of automotive vandalism comes in at around $2,295 with the average value of stolen goods from car break-ins being around $600. Of these incidents, only 60% are ever reported to the police, and only 20% of them actually end in an arrest. Your stuff is insured, sure, but, when possible, it may be preferable to recover the original items because, one, break-ins will affect your insurance rates, and two, some items simply can’t be replaced.
