We kicked off our first Ski Moms retreat of the season with a warm welcome—and a fresh blanket of snow. At Tucker, Sugarbush’s newest après hot spot, our crew of adventurous women gathered for cocktails, mocktails, and icebreakers. It didn’t take long for the laughter to flow and the connections to click. Before the night was over, names were memorized, goals were set, and we were ready for what the mountains had in store.
By morning, the snow gods had delivered: 7 inches of fresh Vermont powder. Spirits were high as we clicked into our bindings and teamed up with Sugarbush’s expert guides to explore the mountain. This wasn’t about chasing vert—it was about building confidence, sharing stories, and cheering each other on.

Meg tackled her first blue runs, finally answering her son’s plea to try Sugarbush’s Sleeper trail. Amy found her way back to joy on skis, linking turns through the trees with her new friends. And another Amy (we had a few!) conquered her first black diamond moguls—a huge milestone for a later-in-life skier investing in her growth.
With legs burning and hearts full, we regrouped mid-day for a warm-up with Kestrel Coffee and Hootie Hoo gear demos. Some returned to the slopes; others opted for massages, saunas, or well-deserved rest.
That evening, we gathered at Addison West—a beautifully curated boutique where Ursa Major offered up skincare solutions for winter-worn skin. We grazed on a stunning charcuterie board from Boarderie, sipped wine, and soaked up wisdom from Stöckli’s Barclay Rappeport. She prepped us for our ski test day with one memorable line:
“Skiing is too expensive and life is too short to not feel like a rockstar on your skis.”
The next morning began with an energizing yoga session led by Annie Parsons of Center Yoga Studio—the perfect mental and physical reset before testing out the Swiss-crafted Stöckli Lasers. On Vermont’s firm, fast conditions, these skis carved like a dream. The verdict? Game-changer. I felt stronger, more in control, and ready to push my skiing further. As the retreat wrapped, goodbyes were tearful but joyful. Planes, trains, and Vermont-dirty cars whisked our group back to reality, but something had shifted. We’d built more than skills—we’d built a community. A third space for moms that exists beyond work and home. In the mountains, we found connection, confidence, and a whole lot of powder.
