The all-new, modular Neue Klasse platform will form the basis of most of BMW’s upcoming models within a few years, including the all-electric iX3 crossover. Related to the current, gasoline-powered X3 in name only, the iX3 promises greater energy efficiency, more technology, and improved driving dynamics relative to the company’s current fleet of crossovers and EVs – plus heritage-informed styling reminiscent of the Vision Neue Klasse X concept. As a result, the Neue Klasse–based iX3 is going to be a crucial component of BMW’s future, even as electric vehicles recede from the limelight ever so slightly.
