Making Fast Cars Faster
John Hennessey founded the tuning company bearing his name back in the early 90s with one simple goal: “making fast cars faster.” Hennessey’s creations have become some of the most extreme performance-tuned American cars ever.
However, what stands out about Hennessey compared to the other tuning houses is that it’s still in the business of not just tuning, but also building its own cars, and it seems an all-new hypercar is in the works.
Project Overlord
Posted on its official Instagram is a teaser video; in the video, we see an animation of a rear taillight transforming from just the light to giving a glimpse of the rear quarter panel. Towards the end of the video, we see a date referring to August 3, 2026, and the caption states, “The mission defines the machine.” We expect the full reveal could be on that date, but we’re also curious if the background song, “Diamonds Are Forever,” is a subtle teaser of what’s to come.
Digging deeper into the post, we also see the hashtag Project Overlord, which is most likely another hint to what this car could be called. Just based on the teasers alone and Hennessy’s extreme performance history, we can expect this car to be a hypercar beast. According to The Supercar Blog, Hennessey developed an all-new engine to pair with its latest 6-speed gated gearbox. Other details are still under wraps, but the report also highlights that the design is calmer and more beautiful than the another Hennessey creation.

Venom F5-M
Hennessey’s a busy company these days; they recently just debuted the Venom F5-M during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The F5-M is a 2,000 hp rocket ship that is paired with the same above-mentioned 6-speed gated transmission that Project Overlord will use.
