America has a pretty rich motorsport history. From NASCAR to dirt oval racing and IndyCar to drag racing, and who could forget the time Ford stood up to Enzo Ferrari at Le Mans. Good times. But aside from that and a few other small standouts, American track performance has been pretty limited to, well, American race tracks. And for a long time, the world’s gold standard for a car’s on-track ability, the Nürburgring, has been something no one mentioned in the same breath as an American car’s performance.
