Next-Gen Kia Sorento Breaks Cover—Sort Of
This here is the upcoming Kia Sorento, at least that’s what NYMammoth’s latest rendering tells us. Although there’s no official news about the latest Sorento, possibilities—more like rumors—hint at an all-new generation slated for 2027. The 2026 Sorento is pretty much a carry-over model, with a few polished bits dotted around for added intrigue.

While Kia hasn’t spilled the beans regarding updates to its mid-size family hauler, creative minds are piecing together bits of what we already know to render the closest thing to a 2027 Sorento. For instance, NYMammoth has taken design inspirations from the newly announced 2027 Telluride, as evidenced by the very bold and blocky front grille. It doesn’t end there; the daytime running lights look similar to the full-sizer, as does the side mirror housing.
In terms of creative liberties, NYMammoth has positioned the render with an off-road theme, visible by the extensive plastic cladding adorning the front and sides. Unfortunately, the digital creator hasn’t given us much when it comes to the rear styling, save for a three-quarter side view in an Instagram upload. But we reckon—should the render ever happen—it might share a lot with the Range Rover-like rear aesthetic of the 2027 Kia Telluride.
As for engines, Korean Car Blog claims five powertrain options, including an EREV, short for Electric Range Extender Vehicle, will be available. However, it’s worth pointing out that these powerplants are from Kia’s global portfolio. The 281-hp 2.5L turbo-four shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the website claims a 260-horsepower hybrid and a 270-horsepower PHEV are on the cards, in addition to the EREV rated at 320 hp.
As you can probably tell, much of the details presented remain unconfirmed. But we have seen spy shots of heavily camouflaged Sorentos doing rounds across the country, which does hint at a refreshed exterior design. Why else would they go to the trouble of hiding it? Anyway, for the time being, this is what we have of the next-generation 2027 Kia Sorento.
