Developer Pohl Jensen has received zoning approval from a Liberty Hill zoning board to develop 21.5 acres of the 90-acre parent tract for retail use. It will now move to the City Council. The Austin Business Journal reports the project will likely include between 120,000 and 150,000 square feet of retail mixed-use, with an emphasis on restaurants and grocery stores. Pohl Partners would ideally like to put a residential project in the remaining portion of the 90-acre property. It’s expected to take 9 to 12 months after approval for the project to break ground.
Pohl Partners helped bring Target and Costco to Liberty Hill.
Liberty Hill clocked year-over-year population growth at 11.7% between July 2024 and July 2025 — among the highest in the region. Its 2025 population was estimated at 13,317 residents.
