Tharaldson Investors is pursuing an ambitious retail development in Manvel that is slated to include a 1 million-square-foot shopping center with retail and restaurant space and a 50-acre, $931 million MD Anderson Cancer Center campus. The proposed project is called Presidio Manvel.
Tharaldson is partnering with United Commercial Development on the venture.
The Houston Business Journal reports Tharaldson has secured Target and Kroger as anchors for the Manvel project, in addition to multiple food and beverage, fitness and other retail tenants. Steve Williamson with Transwestern is marketing the property. The cancer center plans to build its approximately 1 million-square-foot facility in two phases.
The site is across Highway 288 from another large retail center under development, Weitzman’s 273-acre Manvel Town Center, which is anchored by H-E-B and Lowe’s.
Tharaldson has developed a number of hotels in the market.
