McLaren’s Newest Design and Branding

Instead of imagining a traditional luxury SUV, the goal was to create something that still looked unmistakably like a McLaren. The biggest inspiration came from the MCL-6GT manual supercar concept, which introduced the brand’s newest styling language. The concept features slimmer lighting, smoother aerodynamic surfaces, and a cleaner visual identity than current McLaren road cars.

The AI didn’t stray from that playbook. It kept the roof low, so the SUV looks more like a grand tourer on stilts than your average chunky crossover. Massive carbon fiber side sills and deep, sculpted air channels borrow straight from the Artura and 750S, helping the big body look surprisingly light on its feet.

At the back, the taillights match the McL 6GT, with the new McLAREN wordmark at the center of the tailgate. The hood up front also rocks just the iconic Speedmark emblem, ditching the old-school badge in line with McLaren’s fresh branding.

A New Chapter Backed by a Major Investment

McLaren isn’t just dabbling here. The company is investing £500 million (about $669 million) to beef up its UK manufacturing and engineering, with the SUV set to be one of the main stars of that investment.

There are still no official details. McLaren hasn’t shared anything about the SUV’s design, engine, price, or release date. However, rumors suggest the P47 will use a powerful hybrid system and arrive in 2028 with four doors and five seats.
