- Mercedes-AMG launches a Final Edition for the A 45 S 4Matic+.
- It features Manufactur grey paint, yellow graphics, and aero kit.
- The hyper hatch is priced at £67,965 ($90,500) in the UK.
Mercedes may have decided to extend the A-Class lifecycle to 2028 by moving production from Germany to Hungary, but the performance flagship won’t be along for that ride. The Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4Matic+ has picked up the “Final Edition” treatment in Europe and the UK, serving as a farewell to the hyper hatch.
The model is a follow up to the “Limited Edition” from 2024, but swaps the vivid green hue for a stealthier look. The exterior comes in Manufactur Mountain Grey Magno, paired with Dark Chrome door handles, an array of yellow accents, and 45 S decals along the profile. More decals sit on the mirror caps and rear wing, and the fuel filler cap gets a silver chrome finish with AMG lettering.

The Final Edition comes standard with AMG Night Package I and II for the Dark Chrome details, plus the AMG Aerodynamics Package with its splitter, canards, diffuser blade, and rear wing. It rides on black 19-inch forged alloys with a white ring and yellow accents, behind which sit gloss black calipers with white AMG lettering.

Inside, the AMG Performance seats are upholstered in black Artico synthetic leather and Microcut microfiber, with yellow contrasting stitching and “45 S” embroidery. The cabin is adorned by yellow details and aluminum inserts, while the center console features a dedicated “45 S Final Edition” badge.
Still One Of The Best Fours Around
Under the hood sits the familiar turbocharged 2.0-liter, one of the most potent four-cylinder engines in the world. Output holds at 416 hp (310 kW / 421 PS) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, clearing the 395 hp (294 kW / 400 PS) of the rival Audi RS3 Sportback.

The engine pairs exclusively with an eight-speed AMG Speedshift DCT-8G gearbox and the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system with AMG Torque Control. That combination gets the A 45 S from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, on to an electronically limited top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph).

Mercedes hasn’t given production numbers for the farewell special, which should be discontinued later this year. The current A 45 arrived in 2020 and picked up a mild facelift in late 2022.
The rest of the A-Class lineup carries on until 2028, when we expect a new entry-level Mercedes. Odds are the next performance version goes fully electric, following the new 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 sedan and shooting brake.
