The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has been around since its first generation debuted for the 1977 model year. Now, fifty years – seven generations – later, the automaker has announced its next generation for the 2027 model year. The all-new S-Class remains a flagship luxury model and goes up against other German flagship rivals like the BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8. We wouldn’t be surprised to see a Maybach variant or two show up after it’s released to compete with even more luxurious and high-powered rivals like Bentley. Buyers can likely expect to see the new S-Class show up in dealerships in the second half of 2026.
