JLL and Retail By MONA arranged a retail lease for furniture brand Cozey to open its first permanent U.S. store at 160 Fifth Ave. in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The Canadian direct-to-consumer retailer will occupy 10,146 square feet under a 10-year lease at the nine-story mixed-use building owned by RFR. The space was formerly occupied by Club Monaco and Ralph’s Coffee.
Founded by Montreal-based entrepreneur Fred Aubé as an online brand in 2020, Cozey designs and sells modern, modular home furnishings. The company is known for its omnichannel approach and first entered New York through a pop-up in 2024.
JLL EVP Matthew Schuss represented Cozey in the lease. A Retail By MONA team of Brandon L. Singer, Virginia Pittarelli, Manu Wendum, Suzanne Bernstock and Madison Grossman represented RFR.
“Cozey’s entry into the U.S. market marks an exciting milestone as digitally native brands continue to establish a physical presence in New York City,” said Schuss.
