Volvo created the first rearward-facing children’s seat, and the brand incorporated blind-spot monitoring systems into its cars years before Mazda and Ford would do the same in the late 00’s. Volvo has long been regarded as the best of the best when it comes to keeping occupants safe, so how come the automaker only just now scored its second safety award of the year, for the Volvo XC90 plug-in?
