PAGEWOOD broke ground on Phase 1 of East Blocks, an adaptive reuse project in Houston’s East Downtown.
PAGEWOOD recently closed on construction financing for Phase 1 and acquired two warehouse properties at 1107 Hutchins Street and 2202 Dallas Street, which will anchor the first phase of the retail development. PAGEWOOD has already signed a lease with a sushi concept. Retail leasing for East Blocks is being led by Brooks Shanklin and Claire Salazar of Blue Ox Group.
The two warehouse buildings each total 15,000 square feet for a combined 30,000 square feet.
Phase 1 is expected to be completed in August 2026. Gensler is leading architecture and design for the project, with landscape architecture by SWA.
Phase 1 represents the first step in PAGEWOOD’s broader vision for East Blocks as a walkable, mixed-use district centered on food, retail, and community-driven experiences.
