In case you haven’t noticed, the manual transmission is making a bit of a comeback as drivers of high-end machinery seek authenticity and engagement over outright performance. Recent additions include the Ferrari 12Cilindri Manuale and the all-new Hennessey Blackbird, but at this year’s Monterey Car Week, more cars are joining them with a stick shift from a variety of manufacturers. One of them is Porsche, which has announced a return of the six-speed manual to a 911 that doesn’t bear a T or GT3 suffix, and it just might be the perfect model for it.
