Audi has a long history in motorsports, with its biggest victories happening in rallying and endurance racing. However, the Four Rings also staged a successful run in the American sports car racing scene in the late 1980s and early ’90s. One of them was so dominant that the series banned all-wheel drive to prevent the machine from competing.
