The Street-Truck War Is Just Getting Started
Ram essentially revived the street-truck segment with the 1500 Rumble Bee, and if it becomes a commercial success, expect other automakers to follow suit. Some Chevrolet fans, however, have an alternative to waiting with the new limited-edition Silverado “Launch Edition,” developed by Callaway Cars Inc. and Waldoch Crafts Inc. with quintessential street-truck features such as a lowered suspension and supercharged V8.
Before anything else, this Silverado isn’t a direct equivalent to the 1500 Rumble Bee, given that the latter features more extensive modifications, including a shortened frame and wheelbase. Still, the first joint project from Callaway and Waldoch takes the street-truck character of the donor Silverado RST even further.

Low, Loud, and Not Even Slightly Subtle
Cosmetic changes include a body-color grille with an illuminated Chevy bowtie, SC602 badging, leather and Alcantara upholstery with topographic-map-style trim, co-branded puddle lamps, and serialized plaques. Its lowered suspension features a coil-over front design and double-adjustable dampers, complemented by 22-inch wheels with Toyo Proxes ST III tires and six-piston front brakes with 15-inch slotted rotors. At the back is a valved stainless-steel quad-exit exhaust, giving the truck more of a muscle-car finish than an off-road-ready appeal.
As for perhaps the most exciting part, the 6.2-liter L87 V8 has been fitted with Callaway’s SC602 package, which includes a TripleCooled 2650cc Roots-type supercharger that raises output to 602 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. Those figures represent increases of 182 hp and 100 lb-ft.
The press release didn’t include new performance figures such as a 0-to-60-mph time. However, the supercharger should provide immediate power delivery with little of the lag associated with a turbocharged setup, while the lowered suspension should help the truck feel more stable, particularly when cornering.

Getting Its Victory Lap
Beyond its street-truck-inspired upgrades, the Chevrolet Silverado “Launch Edition” also serves as a sendoff for the current-generation model. The next-generation 2027 Silverado, along with the redesigned GMC Sierra, is just around the corner with a more rugged, squared-off appearance and new small-block V8s from General Motors’ Gen 6 engine family.
Pricing wasn’t disclosed, but for reference, the 2026 Silverado RST starts at around $51,300, excluding destination charges. The Launch Edition – offered in Summit White, Black, Sterling Gray Metallic, or White Sands – is available through Callaway’s and Waldoch’s authorized Chevrolet dealer networks, with production limited to 100 examples. They are backed by 3-year/36,000-mile Callaway and Waldoch warranties.
