Slate is taking the Right to Repair saga quite seriously, and it’s pushing back against the idea that cars should only be serviced by authorized dealers. That’s why the 2027 Slate truck will feature a rather generous warranty, and it’s also why the automaker is partnering with 3,000 independent shops to carry out any covered repairs. And as an added bonus to those who’d prefer to do things their way, owners of the compact electric pickup will have access to Slate U, an online repair portal that will guide people through most maintenance processes.
