The Toyota Tacoma needs no introduction, having been the best-selling midsize pickup truck in America for 21 consecutive years. One could even argue that the competition has all but given up trying to dethrone the Tacoma. Most of the conversation around the Tacoma, however, centers around the more expensive models: the TRD Pro and the Trailhunter. These are essentially the off-road variants that play the role of lifestyle accessory too, looking as good on Instagram as they do on the side of a cliff while costing north of sixty grand. As such, less conversation happens around the Tacoma SR vs SR5, the section of the lineup where the real purchasing decisions take place and Toyota quietly does some of its most interesting work.
