TC Investments plans to transform a Nashville office tower it recently bought into a hotel. The Nashville Business Journal reports that the company and a handful of other investors paid $29 million for the 21-story Philips Plaza office building and plan to convert it into 360 hotel rooms.
The hotel is expected to open in spring 2028. A brand has not been designated. Multiple restaurants and entertainment concepts are planned. Barnett Design Studio is the architect for the project.
The office-to-hotel conversion scheme has caught fire in Nashville. Nearly 2 million square feet of Nashville office space is planned or underway to be converted into hotel space. Pivot Real Estate Partners paid $55.25 million for downtown’s Fifth Third Center in August and is planning to convert the giant office tower into nearly 500 hotel rooms. Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel was one of the first large-scale office-to-hotel conversion projects in Nashville, with the hotel making its debut last month.
