A Mercedes-Benz SL is something to aspire to. Since its racing roots in the 1950s, it’s gotten plusher and stood above its rivals in refinement and experience, even if it wasn’t always the fastest around a track. That’s not the point of this roadster though, as it’s built to crunch up miles on cross-continent trips. When there’s a V8 involved instead of the new SL’s tiny four-cylinder, it only gets better.
