Cadillac is a brand that for the last 25 years has been trying to lean into their sporting side. Currently, Cadillac is preparing to make a run at Forumla 1, has had a “Le Mans Daytona h” regulation race car since 2023, and have taken even their more mundane cars racing with a SCCA World Challenge Grand Touring class Cadillac CTS in 2004. With the introduction of the “V” brand, Cadillac set its sights on Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW to compete in the performance luxury space. One of these attempts came in the form of a two-seat, convertible, low-slung, sports car that, with the help of V, would turn into what some could argue was an all-American supercar. In this article we will look at one of the only true Cadillac sports cars ever made and see what set it apart, and why it failed.
