Toyota has a major problem. The V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 engine designed to replace its trusted V8 engines, most notably in the 2022 and onward Toyota Tundra, has had some serious issues. It arrived as a competitive and powerful replacement for the V8, as well as a more economical one. However, in 2024, Toyota announced a recall campaign due to machining debris from the engine assembly process being left in the engine, causing catastrophic failures.
