ViaWest is hoping to win zoning approval from the town of Buckeye to build a 1.3-million-square-foot industrial project. Buckeye recently annexed an 85-acre parcel, allowing the town to vote on the project, which would be situated at the southeast corner of State Route 85 and Interstate 10.
AZBEX reports the company says the purpose of this rezoning is to develop as an employment center with warehouse and distribution uses. Commercial uses, light manufacturing and assembly, office, self-storage, and wholesale will also be considered at the site, called Buckeye 83. The site will hold seven structures ranging in size from approximately 66,000 to 284,000 square feet in size. Each structure will also contain office space to support the warehouse and distribution operation.
Buckeye 83 is planned as a three-phase development. The first two phases are planned as speculative developments, while the third will be constructed as build-to-suit opportunities.
