We take it for granted that most of Volkswagen’s line-up today is made up of SUVs, since that’s just what customers demand. Yet there was a time when the idea of a Volkswagen SUV sounded truly outrageous. That time was the turn of the millennium, and the vehicle that made the idea of a spacious, off-road-capable VW about as normal as an economical hatchback was the first Touareg. It left the U.S. market a few years ago, and now it’s leaving the rest of the world after 2026. Naturally, VW is commemorating the vehicle with a Final Edition.
