The retailer was known solely for its online offerings, but has decided to build warehouses for walk-in customers. The popular furniture retailer Wayfair is preparing to open a new store in Denver and says the grand opening is scheduled for next month. The store will occupy the former Macy’s at 8298 E. Northfield Blvd., which closed last year. It’s Wayfair’s first store in the Mountain West region.
This will be the company’s fourth large-format store, covering approximately 140,000 square feet. The two-story store will feature 19 departments, including furniture, housewares, appliances, mattresses, florals, decor and dedicated areas for design services.
The store will be situated in the Avenues at Northfield, a Stockdale Capital Partners-owned center. The company, which acquired the center in 2022, is planning to add a 103,000-square-foot Life Time facility, a national grocery store and housing.
